Over a million international students attend U.S. colleges and universities. Those who aren't in the US right now should consider returning before Trump's inauguration to avoid problems re-entering the country for spring semester. It may help to carry documents showing enrollment in school in case someone asks.

Some universities are recommending this given that Trump is threatening "the revocation of student visas of 'radical anti-American and antisemitic foreigners'," as CNN wrote a couple days ago, as well as "an expansion of his previous travel ban on people from predominantly Muslim countries."

The first Trump administration targeted travelers from countries including Nigeria, Iran, and Venezuela. Cornell University’s Office of Global Learning speculates that China and India could also be affected this time around.
