'Make Amazon Pay': Buy elsewhere (4 tips)
The strike is over labor, environment, and democracy. Support other businesses.

Amazon employees are striking now, from Black Friday through Cyber Monday (press release).
They're "preparing to protest in 20 countries, including in major cities in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan and Brazil," ABC reports. The issues: labor abuses including low wages, environmental degradation, and threats to democracy resulting from the prioritization of profit over human rights.

This is a great opportunity to find locally owned stores, buy from them, and otherwise support them — in person or online.

An indie press recommendation: Black Lawrence. A couple weeks ago, they announced:
"Now through the end of 2024, we will donate one dollar to the ACLU for every book that is sold on the Black Lawrence Press website. This is good for everything on our list including e-books, titles on sale, and titles available for pre-order."
