Gov. Pritzker's example: Denying state jobs to Capitol attackers

Here's one way to express values.

Gov. Pritzker's example: Denying state jobs to Capitol attackers
Pritzker's letter (CBS News)

All the January 6 rioters are free — over 1,500 of them.

Can they get government jobs? Well, not state jobs in Illinois, where Governor JB Pritzker wrote yesterday:

“No one who attempts to overthrow a government should serve in government.

I hereby direct CMS [Central Management Services] to apply the State Personnel Code and consider any participation in the January 6 insurrection as infamous and disgraceful conduct that is antithetical to the mission of the State.”

Think about what you can do to keep your workplace safe, not only for yourself, but for your coworkers. Think about the society you'd like to live in.

If you believe you have a voice in this regard, use it.

You may not work in HR for a large company, but sometimes, just informally commenting on your ideals can begin to cultivate a shared ethic.

P.S. My ideals require me to say that I wrote a novel that feels adjacent to this issue.
