Ask your leaders to sign Rep. Becca Balint's letter

Calling for Mohsen Mahdawi's release

The government is now arresting people at their citizenship interviews. This is bad for a number of reasons, including that it sows distrust of all government procedures. No one will want to do things "the legal way" if those legal routes are weaponized against them.

MPower Action asks you to email your leaders in Congress, asking them to sign on to Rep. Becca Balint's letter calling for Mohsen Mahdawi's release.

They provide a sample letter you can edit. For example, I condensed it to this:

Columbia student leader Mohsen Mahdawi is a U.S. permanent resident who speaks for Palestinian rights. On April 14, he was tricked into coming to what he thought was his citizenship interview. There, he was arrested.

Rep. Becca Balint is leading a bicameral Congressional letter calling for his immediate release.

I urge you to sign Rep. Balint's letter and to continue to call for Mahmoud Khalil and Rümeysa Öztürk's immediate releases as well.

Use MPower's tool to message your reps.
