Subscribe to independent or non-profit news
How many can you reasonably read or pay for? Pick a few to start!
Happy Sunday. Did you read the news this morning and wish the newspaper were giving you something different? Or did you not read the news at all and miss out on information altogether?
Paying for news keeps newsrooms afloat. If no one subscribes, we'll have no news.
Unfortunately, large news outlets have let us down in multiple ways. (Most recently, when billionaire owners prohibited their editorial staff from endorsing a non-billionaire candidate.) Local news has collapsed — half of U.S. counties today have little or no local news — and of course you can’t subscribe to news that isn’t there.
The good news is that there are many wonderful independent or non-profit outlets — more than you can reasonably read or pay for. Pick one or two to start!
