Washington, DC: Rally tomorrow for 🏳️⚧️US v. Skrmetti
Gather outside the Supreme Court to show support for trans kids. If you'll be at home, learn more about the case.
In Washington DC tomorrow, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in a case that's extraordinarily important for trans people. It's about whether state bans on gender-affirming care are unconstitutional. More specifically, it's about whether kids can access this care, but since kids grow into adults, this is about trans adults too.
(If the topic of gender-affirming care for minors makes you anxious, by the way, please read my essay: How to reduce your anxiety over the ‘idea’ of trans kids.)
If you're in Washington DC, gather outside the Supreme Court tomorrow, Wed, Dec 4, at 10 AM to rally for young trans people. Here's the ACLU's page for the rally. Keshet (an organization for LGBTQ equality in Jewish life) will also be going, and you can meet up with them too if you like.
Even if you're not in Washington, here's info for you to learn more.
Over the past week, Feminist interviewed Chase Strangio, a lawyer who will be arguing for the ACLU. At the bottom of the page, Feminist suggests a few things you can do.
